Pumtek beads & recycled vinyl

Pumtek or ‘buried thunderbolt’ beads are important heirloom beads among the Chin, who live in the Chin hills in western Burma (Myanmar).

The original beads were made 1000 years ago by the Pyu, the builders of the first state in Burma.

Just love the weight and feel of these beads. I have added recycled vinyl beads to compliment the Pumtek beads.

The necklace is 51cms long including the black plated toggle clasp.
